Now that spring is just around the corner, I've been on the hunt for a chic new pair of flats to wear to work. Even though my office is pretty casual I like to look put together and these D'Orsay flats seem to be perfect. I can imagine them with my new favorite pair of ankle trousers (only $25!) for now and with skirts and dresses later.

Which would you choose?!

This past weekend was my cousin's 'A Brunch for Baby' shower down in Orange County. I previously posted about the planning process (here) and it was so great to see everything come together! And now, I am so excited to meet that sweet baby girl!

The 'Mama-to-Be'. Doesn't she look glowing?! I even made her flower crown.

A close-up of the table arrangements. For all the paper goods for the shower we used Tiny Prints. I love that they have so many coordinating options. We continued the scalloped theme from the invitations on to these 'Wishes for Baby' cards that we placed on each table setting. We also ordered pink ombre 'Thank You' stickers from Tiny Prints for the top of the favor boxes. Using the favor boxes on the table really helped to fill up the space.

Shower guests enjoyed filling these out and I know Christine will enjoy reading them for years to come.

The favors were mini bundt cakes.

The biggest challenge we had with the space was that 1. we didn't have a lot of set-up time and 2. that we were unable to hang anything on the (ugly) walls. My solution was to use foam board and lean it against the wall. I painted the board light pink, added the crepe paper flowers (by making holes in the board and pulling them through) and a balloon 'baby' banner to top it off. It worked out great and had a huge impact in the space!

I also whipped up several chalk signs. The secret to nice lettering is to use a chalk pen.
brunch party
Since the theme was 'A Brunch for Baby' it wasn't complete without the brunch themed food. We had assorted pastries, a pear salad, fruit kabobs and several different flavored quiches.

And we can't forget about the cake!

These personalized napkins from Tiny Prints were perfect to serve the cake with at the end of the shower.

I've been gravitating towards neutrals for interiors lately. Maybe it's the grey weather but there is something to be said for a nice neutral clean space. Here's a few of my favorites for the living room:
Pouf // Sofa // Tray // Chair // Pillow // Nesting Tables

I'm sure once spring officially arrives I'll be back to my bright colored ways!

I have been extremely busy planning a baby shower brunch for later this month. If you've been around here for a while you know that party planning is literally one of my favorite things to do. And my beautiful cousin is pregnant with a sweet baby girl so we are throwing her a baby shower to match! I am so soo excited for her! We don't necessarily have a theme for the shower; but more of a pink ombre color scheme with lots of paper peonies.
These are the paper peonies I am making. About 100 of them! The plan is to make 40 for the favor boxes a la the Oh Happy Day tutorial. Each box will go at a place setting and contain cookies as the favor. The remainder of the peonies are for a flower backdrop behind the cake table. Since we have a very short time to set up the room, the plan is to attach the peonies to a large foam board ahead of time and lean it against the wall when we arrive.

I looked at a lot of places that carry crepe paper rolls and the PaperMart has the best prices. The flowers are really easy to make and would be fun in just about every room!

I also picked out some table linens at my favorite linen rental company, La Tavola.

I already own 3 champagne sequin tablecloths that we are going to use for accent tables. The main tables will have the blush and rose tablecloths and we might try to incorporate another floral pattern for the napkins.

And lastly, all of the paper goodies recently arrived from Tiny Prints! They turned out beautiful and I especially love all the scalloped edges. One of the baby shower games will also be at each table setting. I even found matching pencils at Target!

I can't wait to celebrate the mama-to-be and of course share all the pictures here with you!
