Since we moved into our cute little neighborhood I've been SO excited for the holidays! First up is Halloween and because my neighbors did it for me growing up, I thought I would make little treat bags for the kids on our block!

Halloween Treat Bags

I found the cutest 'trick or treat' pintables for the tags from Oh So Beautiful Paper and the gingham ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

I included a bunch of inexpensive Halloween themed goodies from Target:
-Slap bracelet
-Spider rings

I love how they turned out! I even made a few extra without any candy so we could participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project. As someone who has a nut allergy, I think it's great that kids with allergies can still participate in the Halloween fun!

Have a happy and safe Halloween!!

I recently picked up this red bucket bag from Lands End and it is LOVE. Seriously, the leather is so buttery soft and I'm a total sucker for tassels. I've been trying to figure out how I can wear it as often as possible.
Last weekend I wore it while running errands around town and I received so many compliments! It's extremely versatile as I've also worn it to work several times and I hope to share that outfit with you next week!

I am very impressed with Land's End quality and they are my top choice when looking for classics. They currently are running a 30% off promo and have a lot of great fall options.
Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Wishlist Wednesday {Fall Edition}

I have quite the growing fall wishlist.. It doesn't help that the temps are still in the 90's here. But a few things that have caught my eye in the last few weeks:
A cute stacked heel bootie is a fall must for me. Loving this color too- it would match perfectly with my Barbour coat.
I'm a huge Devon Baer fan and I have several of her tunics that I wear throughout the cold months. Because they look great at work (tucked in with a belt!) or dressed up with pearls for an event I find myself reaching for them a lot. I love the elbow patch detail that is new this year; now I just need to decide on a color!

This is literally the most perfect holiday plaid skirt that I have ever seen! I've had holiday cards on my mind lately (Tiny Prints has real glitter cards this year! SWOON!) and how cute would this skirt be?! I'm thinking of doing them on our front porch and I can envision a wreath and maybe a little mistletoe!
What's on your wishlist?!

Next year I turn the big 3-0! Not exactly sure how I feel about entering a new decade, but regardless I've decided that I'm going to have a Kentucky Derby Party to celebrate- complete with a hat contest and a mint julep bar!
I know May 7 is really far away but I am just so excited I can't help myself! I've actually already found my dress and I'm starting to think of some party d├ęcor ideas too. I'm loving this bar cart and I think I will do something similar.

I am planning on going with a Kate Spade-esq theme- think black and white stripes, pops of pink/red and sterling silver everywhere.
Counting down the days!

Updates Around the House

In the past few weeks since returning from Hawaii I've been go-go-go with projects around the house. It's like suddenly something clicked and I've had a vision of how I wanted things to look when before I was unsure.
My MIL had this beautiful tobacco leaf vase in one of their Maui condos and on our recent trip the stars aligned and I was able to bring it home in my carry-on bag. I was a wreck going through security with it, but I am so glad it made it home to California safely.

I also repainted the book shelf you see behind the vase. It was my first experience with chalk paint, and sadly I think it will be my last. I think I am just a fan of tried and true latex paint.
Continuing with the blue theme, I saw one of my favorite bloggers, A Mrs Among Magnolias, posted a picture of these fun buffalo check valences and I knew they would be perfect in our laundry room.

I've also decided that this holiday season I am going to focus on improving our outdoor seasonal decorations. Since we lived in a condo before we basically have zero in that department and our new neighborhood really goes all-out and I need to put our resources there. I'm thinking that buying Christmas lights for the house will be a doozy so I'm trying to be mindful of that.
However, I did find the cutest little boxwood wreath for our kitchen nook built-in!
Which also happens to match our larger one which currently resides on the mantle. More importantly though, I found the cutest striped taper candle which brings the perfect modern mix to the space.

I have a few more updates in the works and I can't wait to share those with you all soon!
