Married & Merry

Since this is our first married Christmas, I decided to continue with that theme! I customized these "Be Merry" Christmas cards from Tiny Prints to say 'Married & Merry' and our name.

I loved all the customization I was able to do! Remember, when designing your cards- its all in the details! That's why I choose the 'ticket trim', the glitter polka dot backer, gold stripe liner, matching return address labels and sealed them up with gold washi tape. I'm so proud of myself for getting our cards out early (unlike years past) but I believe there is still time, or a New Years Card is always an option.

And to take it once step further, I ordered a matching ornament as a way to always remember our first Christmas!

I used the same image and font style on the ornament as our cards. It's now one of our favorite ornaments on the tree! I love that they are glass and reflect the lights through.

I ordered this ornament too, it says 'Best. Day. Ever' with our date and I really couldn't be more obsessed. It's an all time favorite picture and it made the perfect ornament.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!!

Casual Chic Outfit

I've been wearing a variation of this outfit a lot lately. It's the perfect amount of casual-comfy-chic and awesome for running around town.

Jeans // Top // Scarf // Sweater // Coat

I had been struggling with how to wear these booties (the coach lewes booties) since the color is a bit light, but I think they look best if you pair them with other similar brown colors. This time I wore a sweater, scarf and bag in the same tone, but they look just as nice with just one item to balance the outfit out.

Have a nice weekend!!! XOXO

Wedding Paper Display DIY

A few weeks back, when I was working on that gallery wall for the master bedroom, I came across all the pretty paper from our wedding. I had put so much thought into picking it all out for our big day, I thought it might be fun to display it! So I rounded up a frame I already had and hung it on my side of the master bath. Now its such a cute little area!
Did you display your wedding paper? Please share! XOXO

Five on Friday

Happy Friday!

So happy it's almost the weekend! Before we get there, here's a few of my favorites from this week:

I've been busy putting together our Christmas cards! Don't worry, I'll share them here as soon as everyone gets them in the mail.

cableknit sweater // plaid shirt, old (similar) // Michele watch
I love when photos of our wedding pop up on social media! Brides posted an instagram of my blue wedding shoes the other day. #LOVE

A chunky knit sweater was the perfect way to dress down this fancy Loren Hope necklace for happy hour Monday night.

I joined Rocksbox and I've been loving my first box, which included this necklace! For those of you who haven't heard it's a jewelery subscription service, but the best part is that they have Loren Hope stuff which = love!

Have you been listening to the Serial podcast? I heard the first episode on This American Life a few months back and I was so hooked I hung out in my car in the target parking lot just so I could finish listening. Anyway, next week is the last episode so now would be a good time to catch up!

Song I currently have on repeat: Drinking About You (The Chainsmokers Remix)
This year, I purposely didn't put any glass ornaments on our tree just because I know how much Mr. Kitty loves to hide in it.
I have to fix all the ornaments every night, but it's totally worth it because I know he loves hanging out in there so much!

Master Bedroom Gallery Wall

I mentioned recently that I was working on updating our master bedroom, but I've been majorly struggling with what to do with the walls since it's such a weird space (that bump out!!). All I knew at first is that I wanted to incorporate as much from the wedding as I could- that meant hanging our favorite formal wedding portrait, our wedding invitation and map.

Anyway, I am really happy with how it turned out! Our formal portrait is from Tiny Prints (they have the best quality and its the 16x20 mounted print), the ampersand is Anthropologie and the wood frame is from Target (photo from my bridal session). The other frames (IKEA) hold our calligraphy invitation and map.

I've done quite a few gallery walls at this point (kitchen, spare room, the stairwell) and the quickest  way I've found is to lay everything out on the ground first and then hang the largest piece. Once you've hung the one it's easy enough to just wing the rest based on how you laid it out. I've always had good luck and maybe only a few extra nail holes ;)

The pillow cases are from Pottery Barn and the monogrammed pillow is from Horchow

Mr. Kitty had to get in on the action too- I'm telling you he loves that throw blanket!!

Well I hope you loved it as much as we do!!

Our Thanksgiving Golf Trip

Ahh, the dreaded Monday after vacation! (Although the Cyber Monday deals have made it slightly better...) But I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving, we sure did! Instead of the usual, we decided to head up to Oregon to spend the week on the coast golfing at Bandon Dunes. It was amazing! The weather was chilly but pleasant for most of the trip, only raining at the end. That of course didn't stop my husband- he played right through the 50 mph hour winds and pouring rain. I enjoyed hot coca by the fire instead :)

The Lodge where we stayed:
There are four courses at Bandon Dunes, all of them are in the top 20 golf courses you can actually play. Pacific Dunes, rated #1 (higher then Pebble Beach FYI) was CWF's favorite and he played it on Thanksgiving Day.

I honestly thought I would struggle to find things to do, but the beauty of the courses there blew me away. I loved how natural they looked- like they belonged there and were always apart of the dunes.

The ocean view from some of the holes wasn't bad either :)

These blackwatch plaid pants that CWF wore one day were a hit! I was obsessed too :)

I even snuck away to beachcomb early in the morning.

All in all, a wonderful trip! We hope to make it back soon or even maybe make it a yearly Thanksgiving tradition.

Cranberry Champagne Punch

I made a cranberry champagne punch for friendsgiving that ended up being a big hit so I thought I would share with you all. It really couldn't be any easier!

2 cans frozen cranberry-raspberry juice concentrate
1 3-liter sprite
1 bottle of champagne
Fresh cranberries for garnish

Mix it all together in your drink dispenser (I also added ice) and its ready to serve! Perfect for any upcoming thanksgiving festivities!!

Wedding Wednesday- My Bridal Shower

My bridal shower theme was 'Monograms + Mai-Tais', a little nod to our favorite place- Maui! My mother, MOH Christine and bridesmaid Sarah were so gracious to host the event in my mom's backyard, complete with a monogrammed tiki bar!

Lilly Pulitzer dress // LaRoque Monogrammed Sash

They used a mix of Lilly napkins & tablecloths from my collection along with brightly colored linens. My stepdad made beautiful floral arrangements for the tables as well!

We obviously served Mai-Tais to drink and they were a hit!

My bridesmaid Sarah had monogrammed cookies made for the favors! They were absolutely adorable! The cake was lemon chiffon and vanilla with strawberries-yum!!

We played the toilet paper bride game as well as a few other themed games. The prizes were mini lotions in Hawaiian theme scents from Bath & Body Works.

I also received so many wonderful and thoughtful gifts. It was such a special day spent with all the important women in my life and I am so grateful everyone was able to travel from near and far to celebrate.

Also, a huge THANK YOU to my mom, Michael, Christine and Sarah for making my bridal shower dreams come true! Every last detail was totally perfect. XOXO

Throw Blanket

My favorite way to make any room feel 'cozy' is the addition of a throw blanket. I literally have them in each room of the house- on the couch, on a side chair, on top of a bench or hope chest, and on the end of the bed. Both Mr. Kitty and I love to snuggle up in a soft blanket and it makes it extra easy when there is always one nearby!

This Herringbone Throw is from Tiny Print's new home collection.  I love that I was able to customize it and how soft it is- if we can't find Mr. Kitty he is usually upstairs on the bed laying on it. And the best part, the colors of the blanket were perfect in our master bedroom update (can't wait to share pictures soon!).
Hope you are having a great week!

Sugar Paper for Target

While browsing Target the other day I stumbled across the Sugar Paper for Target line of 2015 planners. I've been a fan of Sugar Paper after looking for a cute recipe box with cards earlier in the year and stumbled upon their version (here).
Anyway, I ended up picking the cutest little planner in pink leather (the size is slightly bigger than my samsung note phone) and I can't wait to use it next year!

The best part was it was only $8. I'm not a religious planner user but I still like to have one around and this one is both cute and practical. It looks like the planners are available only in store or at Sugar Paper's website, however target prices were less expensive than the ones listed.

Wedding Wednesday- Our Feature

Good morning and happy Wednesday! Hope everyone is having a nice week so far.
For this week's Wedding Wednesday I am excited to share that our wedding was featured on in their real weddings blog. They also featured a few of our pictures on their instagram as well!

And now since the photos have been officially shared my photographer was able to post more photos to her blog. If you are interested in seeing more, that can be found here: Coco Tran Photography and on my wedding planner's page here: Two Roads Event Co

Menswear Monday

Lately I've been on the lookout for classic pieces to add to CWF's wardrobe. Up until recently, he had either suits and dress clothes or super casual lounge wear but not much in between.

I stumbled upon this versatile half-zip sweater at J.Crew that can also be monogrammed; I think it would be perfect with a block monogram on the chest in the same thread color as the sweater.

I envision him wearing it in the coming months with a plaid button-down top and dark wash jeans.
Have you found any must-have menswear items lately? Please share!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday! I'm excited for this weekend as we have lots of fun things planned, including a friend's engagement/Halloween party, a volunteer shift at the library (we are doing some fun fall crafts with the kids!) and I'm sure we will squeeze in 18-holes at the course.
A few of my favorite things from this past week:

These coach booties will be perfect for the cool crisp fall days ahead.
Coach Hewes Bootie

CWF lives in his Gold Cup Sperry's. He says they are much more comfortable than the regular ones. And 25% off this weekend for Sperry's Friends & Family sale (code: FFS2514)
Gold Cup 2-eye boat shoe

We've been spending a lot of time at the club lately.  It's been great to stop by after work and spend some time at the gym or driving range. And of course, we've loved meeting so many wonderful people!
Patio sitting is my favorite and it is so peaceful here! A quiet little refuge in a busy city.

A few playlist additions: This Arctic Monkey "Do I Wanna Know" Churches cover has been on heavy repeat lately. I just can't get enough. I've also been loving Kavinsky 'Nightcall' it's a little 80's but I love it.

As I mentioned before, Mr. Kitty recently had 6 teeth pulled (!!!) and we are so happy that he is 100% back to his normal kitty self now.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Wedding Wednesday- My Maui Beach Bachelorette

I'm pretty sure that my friends threw me the best bachelorette party in history! We spent a long weekend at one of my in-laws condos in Maui. Seriously, it was totally epic and I am so so grateful!!
The weekend started off with a limo arriving super early in the morning to pick us up for our flight. Mimosas at 5am are always a good idea!! On our flight, the flight attendants were so sweet to craft me a veil (out of TP! ha!) and made an announcement to the whole plane that there was a bride on board! They had me walk down the aisle of the plane with my 'veil' & 'train' and the passengers wrote their well wishes on napkins for us! It was a memory I will always cherish.
After arriving in Maui and getting settled in the condo we went out for happy hour. A quick stop at the chapel by the sea at the Grand was in order.

At happy hour there was a ukulele player singing Hawaiian songs. He even dedicated a few songs to me!

The next day we spent a few hours tanning on the lawn outside the condo.

Our one big 'outing' of the weekend was a reggae sunset dinner booze cruise!
I love that all the girls wore black dresses and I wore white- it really made the whole bride thing real! Words of advice though- don't wear wedges or flowly dresses on a boat with waves and wind! Haha
After some dinner and a few drinks the reggae dance party was going strong! We had an absolute blast!!
Every Lilly girl needs a Lilly Bachelorette sash!!

More beach time! I loved making tropical drinks to bring with us to the beach. As there favor for coming, each of the girls got a monogrammed beach hat and a tumbler cup to drink out of!

One cloudy morning we drove to the other side of the island and hiked in the bamboo forest.

It's an easy hike and the best part is there's a waterfall at the end!

A coconut drink! We had to wade through that water to get over to the waterfall, but it was totally refreshing since it was so humid out.

I loved spending time with the girls at the condo too! It was so relaxing watching the turtles from the balcony.
And of course we had to make sure to get a trip to Mama's Fish House in.. it's CWF's and I favorite place and where we celebrated our engagement.
The view there is incredable!

On our last night we wanted to check out the Andaz hotel becasue it is new and super swanky.

This hibiscuss flower Lilly dress was totally perfect for a Maui bachelorette!

Another group shot!
I think I brought every maiden name monogrammed item I owned just to get one last good wear!
I asked my MOH and friends to plan me a trip that incorporated all our favorite things about Maui and I got just that! I am so greatful that I have such a wonderful group of friends and they were able to share this special time with me.
