Mr. K Monday & a Halloween Weekend Recap

Love our sweet little K:

And now on to the Halloween Weekend Recap. We had an absolute blast! The party was held at Postino in Lafayette. The whole place was rented out, there was fabulous food, an open bar, several bands, a characterture, a magician and amazing costumes.

Thank you for your comments and ideas about what I should be. After further thought, I decided to still go as a flapper but decided to channel LC's look instead. I think I did a pretty good job, and CWF loved it too!

mad picture taking skills right here..

CWF as a gangster!

our characterture!

Well I hope you had a fun at all the halloween parties this past weekend! And have a safe and happy halloween tonight!!

Pixies and the World's Largest Corn Maze

Hello lovelys! Hope everyone is having a fab week!

Have you all tried the J.crew Pixie Pants? Because they are amazing!!! While looking for leggings at the crew I stumbled upon them, I know they have been out a while but they are the perfect thicker legging/ pant that can be worn with boots or flats. Love! (Of course, once it gets cold enough here, its still in the 80's!)

In other news, over the weekend bf and I went to the World's Largest Corn Maze. It was crazy big! We have never been in a corn maze before, so we decided to do it big and go at night! It was a lot of fun, and bf is an excellent navigator so we didn't really get lost at all.

In the corn right before dark!

 Super dark now! SO scary!

Thank you all for all your sweet comments and my new followers! I still can't figure out how to respond to your comments, hopefully I can get it together soon though!

Engagement Party Weekend

As you recall, CWF and I spent this past weekend in Southern California for my cousin's engagement party. On Saturday we went to Beverly Hills for wedding dress shopping. And she found her dress!! Priscilla of Boston is going out of business and so dresses are at least 50% off, which made things even better! Her dream dress at an amazing price! We had a celebratory lunch at the Farm of Beverly Hills which was absolutely divine. Def recommend if you are shopping on Rodeo Drive.
Trying on her dress!
Just kidding!!! It's my aunts dress from 28 years ago!

We also went down to Dana Point to check out their reception venue, which is the Ocean Institute. I loved it! I was right on the water and the building was modern and fun!

The happy couple!

You might have recognized the location, there have been several weddings here on SMP.

Sunday was the actual party but I was sooo busy I wasn't able to take any pictures. But it was super fab! I made a bunch of cute printables, we ate lots of yummy food and cakeballs, and there was even a bartender!

Monday was Chelsea Lately which was also super fun! I wasn't able to take pictures because we had to leave our phones in the car. But preggers Hilary Duff was on the show! And I loved Chelsea's outfit! I saw a few of the other cast members before the show hanging out at the food trucks (if you watch After Lately you know what I mean)

BEVERLY HILLS, CA - OCTOBER 17: (L-R) Elle magazine creative director Joe Zee, TV personality Chelsea Handler, and actress Reese Witherspoon attend ELLE's 18th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute held at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills on October 17, 2011 in Beverly Hills, California.
She had a bow belt on during the show!

Did anyone else watch? Hope everyone else had a fab weekend too!!

Secretary Chic

Blouses are everywhere this fall and so quintessentially 'secretary chic'. While I am not a secretary, I do love blouses! I also love bows, but I'm not sure I can do it together in the bow blouse that is everywhere. I don't like to wear turtlenecks because they are too tight on my neck (and I get hot!) and it looks like the bow blouse might be the same. But I love lusting..

Suzette blouse

Kate Spade
(maybe this one would be ok? but the price tag is a no-go!)

Tory Burch

Since I love blouses so much I really couldn't do without this one (with my fav neckline!) from j.crew:
Talia top in silk
I can't wait to wear it exactly like this!

Blouse vs. Bow Blouse, which do you prefer??

Chelsea Lately

TGIF!!! This has been a super long week for me, and I am so glad it's almost the weekend!

I don't think I have ever told you my love for Chelsea Handler & Chelsea Lately. I watch the show every night and I think she is the funniest person ever!  I've always wanted to go to a show tapping, but it has never worked out.... until this upcoming Monday!!! I am sooooo excited!

I'll be down in the OC for my cousin's engagement party this weekend (look for that post next week!) and Monday is perfect timing. Now I just need to figure out what to wear! (story of my life?) Ah!

Have a fab weekend everyone!!

Celebrating Fall

Fall is now in full swing here in Northern California. To celebrate I've been doing a few things:

Potato soup in a sourdough breadbowl is my fav on a chilly night!
I love me some sourdough!- I grew up in the SF bay area after all!

Painted a pumpkin pink! Now residing near my front door! It needs something else- "Welcome"? or "Happy Fall"? I'll be fixing it soon!

Made some apple crisp!! with vanilla ice cream- Yumm!!  Apples are from bf's (I'm going to start calling him CWF) parents backyard!

Wore my first cable knit of the season (and successfully mixed j.crew & lilly!)
scarf: lilly, cable knit sweater: lacoste, chinos: jcrew, shoes: TB

What have you done so far to celebrate fall??

Halloween Costume Help!

Good Morning Ladies! I canceled my scheduled blog post for today because I really need some help with my Halloween costume!

As of yesterday  afternoon I was going to be a flapper. Yesterday evening we were invited to an amazing party that is more akin to a "costume ball" . Basically this flapper outfit is out.
this photo was taken moments before we got the invite.. or I wouldn't be looking mildly happy..

So I ask you my dear readers, what should I be? It needs to be fancy! The bf needs to be matching as well..
I have no idea where to start because:
1. I've never been to a fancy Halloween party before (only college parties- with skantastic outfits..)
2. Costume stores only have cheapy (skanky) Halloween costumes

Help please!

Work Attire: Casual Friday FAIL

This past Friday I wore a super boring outfit to work- casual friday afterall.. Jeans and a orange lp polo.. NBD..

After work I'm at the bank waiting in line and then I turn around and there is a group of men wearing the exact same outfit! So embarrassing! FAIL.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was lovely, we spent all weekend.. wait for it... playing golf. Since it was bf's bday I really couldn't complain- and we played one of the nicest courses in the county- we hope to be members there one day!

Honestly, I am getting a bit burnt out on golfing.. Bf is just obsessed and I can't hang.. I just get too tired! But I love that it's something fun we can do together.. What's a girl to do?
